The most-anticipated video game in development right now isn’t Battlefield 2042 or Call Of Duty 2021. It’s Elden Ring, a sprawling collaboration between Dark Souls developer FromSoftware and Game of Thrones author, George R.R. Martin.
And we haven’t heard anything about it in ages. It feels like an eternity since FromSoftware or publish Bandai Namco even acknowledged the game’s existence, and fans of the Souls games have been waiting eagerly for any hint of news.
So some good news—even if it’s just a rumor—is in order. Elden Ring will reportedly be shown off during the Summer Game Fest on June 10th (Thursday) according to a tease from ResetEra user Omnipotent.
The tease is basically just a GIF of Summer Game Fest lord and master, Geoff Keighley, holding an Elden Ring pendant.
It may not seem like much, but it’s the closest thing to confirmation we’re going to get that the game will indeed appear during the Summer Game Fest kickoff livestream Thursday at 11am PT / 2pm ET.
And while I’ve argued that FromSoftware’s silence on this game has been fantastic marketing in the past, I’m also a FromSoftware fanboy deep down and I can’t wait. This is by far the most exciting thing about E3 this year, no question. Hopefully it’s true!
Praise the sun!
